Finance and Tax Library Guide: Help

Guide for library resources for UCT Finance students

Finding books in the library

Books are arranged in subject order according to the Dewey Decimal System. It is therefore important that you check the library catalogue (ALEPH) to find the shelf number of the book you are looking for. You should also check whether the book is out by clicking the 'All Items' button on the Aleph record. If it is out you can reserve it by clicking the 'Request' button.

Books often have prefixes which tell you in which part of the library they can be found. For example the prefix CR indicates that the book is part of the Commerce Reference collection. A full list of prefixes can be found on the Book Location chart.

Photocopying & Printing

Photocopy, scanning and printing machines are located throughout the library. To add credits to your account, you can go to the Document Centre, as well as use the online version.

Online Tutorials
