Primo is a one-stop shop or gateway to a wealth of scholarly content like articles, books, eBooks, journals,  DVDs, and more. Primo provides a fast and intuitive discovery and discovery on the go from any device.

Getting started with Primo

Start a new search

Browse by title, author, shelf number or subject

Journal Search allows you to search for journal by title or ISSN

Find by Citation allows you to search for articles, books and journals using citation details

My Library Card allows you to manage your loans (renew items), manage requested items and more

Help provides you more information on how to use Primo

Search profiles

Search Everything: Search thousands of our resources, including print books, e-books, articles, media, maps, and more.

Articles and Other eResources: Search articles in selected databases indexed by PRIMO. You will search more databases at once, but not all of the databases to which UCT Libraries provides access to.

UCT Library Catalogue: Search UCT Libraries' physical collection, e-books, digital repository, print materials, theses.

Course Materials: Search by course name, instructor, course number or department to find physical/print materials places on reserve.
