The guide is aimed at providing students with the Library and Information Studies Centre (LISC) with information about UCT Libraries and the resources available to them.

The Chancellor Oppenheimer Library Hours are as follows:-

                                      Term Time                      Vacation Time

Monday - Thursday            8am - 10pm                     8.30am - 5pm

Friday                              8am - 6 pm                     8.30am - 5pm

Saturday                          9am - 5pm                      9am - 12.30pm

The library is generally closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.   During exam times, the library is open until 11pm Mondays - Thursdays and on Sundays during this time.

However, the libraries' electronic resources are available at any time, from anywhere off campus, through the off-campus log-in on our home page.   You log in using your UCT student number and password  (same one that you use for VULA and checking your UCT email).

You need your student card to be able to come into the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library, and to be able to borrow materials, print or photocopy.   No student card = no entry.
