A guide on using EndNote to manage your citations

About EndNote

The University of Cape Town subscribes to EndNote, which is a reference management tool used to store and organise your references easily. UCT staff and students may use EndNote. Click here for more information about EndNote.

Reference Help

To access the EndNote links, go to the UCT Libraries homepage hover over the Research Help tab with your mouse, scroll down to the Referencing help link and click on EndNote. Here you will find quick links to help you get started with EndNote.

Why use EndNote?

EndNote will assist you to:

  • Update and maintain references across EndNote with improved sync capabilities. Sync your desktop, online and iPad accounts - and even across multiple computers.
  • Set preferences to create clear, organized, and easily searchable names for your PDF documents as you import them.
  • Add subheadings to your bibliographies using your own or predefined categories to distinguish primary and secondary sources.
  • Organise your research materials easier.
