Latest News on Kopernio for Libraries (December 2019)

Kopernio now integrates with your institutional link resolver via OpenURL to help researchers avoid dead ends.

When Kopernio is unable to provide one-click access to a PDF via subscription or to an open access alternative, users will now be directed back to your link resolver, providing access to aggregator content, non-digital holdings and other resources you specify, such as document delivery or interlibrary loans.

Send us the details of your link resolver to libraries@kopernio.com and we’ll get it set up right away!

The Web of Science KID (Kopernio institutional dashboard) provides librarians insights into content access and coverage.

The Kopernio plugin will always be available for free to researchers, regardless of affiliation or location. We’re now excited to launch a new tool that is designed specifically for librarians to deliver important insights into usage habits for all users affiliated to your institution.

The Web of Science KID provides an aggregated, anonymized summary of content access and usage behaviors of researchers using the Kopernio plugin. This provides valuable insights into the institution’s access coverage via journal subscriptions as well as open access alternatives and reveals potential issues that can be addressed. By combining Kopernio plugin usage data with the powerful, extensive Web of Science datasets, we’re able to deliver unique information that can help to drive significant improvements to your researchers’ discovery and access workflow.

The Web of Science KID does require a minimum threshold of Kopernio users for the data to be useful. We estimate 10%-20% of the research population in your institution is a good start. Access to the Web of Science KID is free through to the end of 2020 providing this threshold is met. Speak to your account manager for more details.
