How to find Books in Primo

 

This presentation will show you on how to use the Primo to find books, print journals, CDs, videos and DVDs available in UCT Libraries. Primo will tell you what books we have in your subject area, and the shelf-numbers where you will find those books.

Books

 

To find scholarly publications in the library collections, use the Primo searching platform. Primo is the prominent search box at the UCT Libraries home page (www.lib.uct.ac.za).

eBooks: In Primo eBooks will have a green Available online tag. Most of them needs Adobe Digital Edition software to be able to borrow and read offline. Library eBooks could have number of simultaneous users limit at a time and a copy will be available in

Physical books will be indicated with specific library and shelf location information in your retrieved results. 

InterLibrary Loans

 

If a book is not available at UCT libraries. A copy can be requested via InterLibrary Loans from another library. Note that if you request a chapter you will be provided with a copy much quicker than the full book.

CDs, DVDs and journals are issued for 3 days and they are renewable.
Items that have been requested by another library user (Interlibrary loans) may not be renewed.
