AQUASTAT

"AQUASTAT is FAO's global information system on water and agriculture, developed by the Land and Water Division. The main mandate of the programme is to collect, analyze and disseminate information on water resources, water uses, and agricultural water management with an emphasis on countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean."

Global Water Partnership (GWP)

"GWP was founded in 1996 by the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) to foster integrated water resource management (IWRM)."

Global Water Solidarity

"Global Water Solidarity is a coalition of local, regional and national governments, public and private institutions and civil society organizations from Europe, Asia and Africa. Its members are working together to develop, replicate and scale up decentralized solidarity mechanisms (DSMs) and to support existing DSMs at national and regional levels."

Groundwater Governance : a Global Framework for Action

"Groundwater Governance - A Global Framework for Action (2011-2015) is a joint project supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), jointly with UNESCO's International Hydrological Programme (UNESCO-IHP), the International Association of Hydrologists (IAH) and the World Bank."  

High Level Panel on Water (HLPW) "United Nations Secretary-General and President of the World Bank Group convened a High Level Panel on Water (HLPW), consisting of 11 sitting Heads of State and Government and one Special Adviser, to provide the leadership required to champion a comprehensive, inclusive and collaborative way of developing and managing water resources, and improving water and sanitation related services.  The core focus of the Panel is the commitment to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, as well as to contribute to the achievement of the other SDGs that rely on the development and management of water resources. "

International Decade for Action: Water for Life, 2005-2015

"... in December 2003, the United Nations General Assembly, in resolution A/RES/58/217, proclaimed the period 2005-2015 International Decade for Action 'Water for Life'. The decade officially started on World Water Day, March 22, 2005."

International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Publications: Water Policy

International Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre (IGRAC).

IGRAC is UNESCO Global Groundwater Centre, it also works under the auspices of WMO, it is a corporate IAH partner and it is financially supported by the Government of the Netherlands. “

International Hydrological Programme (IHP). "intergovernmental programme of the UN system devoted to water research, water resources management, and education and capacity building." 

International Water Management Institute (IWMI)

" a non-profit, scientific research organization focusing on the sustainable use of water and land resources in developing countries. It is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with regional offices across Asia and Africa. IWMI works in partnership with governments, civil society and the private sector to develop scalable agricultural water management solutions that have a real impact on poverty reduction, food security and ecosystem health. IWMI is a member of CGIAR, an international consortium of agricultural research centers."

Sanitation and Water for All (SWA). "SWA is the United Nations-hosted partnership working towards a joint objective of water, sanitation, and hygiene for all, always, and everywhere."

Water Governance Facility (WGF)

"The UNDP Water Governance Facility (WGF) at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) is an initiative that was launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation (Sida). The programme is a mechanism to implement parts of the UNDP Water Governance Programme."

World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP)
