This Intellectual property policy, hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”, recognises that UCT Employees, Visitors’ and Students’ activities may result in creative outputs. In certain instances it may best serve the public interest to obtain legal protection for these innovations and creative works, to make them commercially attractive and/or to support the development of useful processes and/or products. The intention of this Policy is therefore to make research outputs available in a form that will most effectively promote their development and use for economic and social benefit. It provides a framework for governing the rights and responsibilities of all stakeholders in relation to Inventions and other creative processes arising from their activities. Link to policy here
